  • …ending?

This book was amazing until it wasn’t. I love an unreliable narrator but I find myself disappointed when I’m left w/o an ending. The last few chapters felt like they had to be wrapped up quickly and the book doesn’t really end or I’m not clear on the ending … it is quite possible I just don’t get it but it is odd to be staying up late and enjoying every detail and character build and running out of hours in the day only to return the next to find yourself feeling like the writing style was rushed and hardly resembles the rest of the book.

So many people rave about the twist ending but I was genuinely unimpressed and disappointed. It’s well written and I was well captivated for the majority of the book, just disappointed.

This didn’t really hook me very well for the first several chapters. Once the plot thickened up, it became one of the most interesting books I’ve read.

I can imagine that many people like this book because it is a real page turner, and the feminist theme is relevant. But the main character is unlikeable and unreliable, even before the reader learns the truth. I liked the writing but thought the plot was ridiculous. Had to finish it, but wish I’d saved my money.

Well this was a fun and twisty thriller that had me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had things figured out, Feeney throws a major curveball. I never could have predicted the plot twists, and I was left guessing until the very last page. I give this one 4.25 stars and am excited to read more from her.

No surprise, a whiny selfish man gets what he deserves. The climax is anticlimactic. Overall it’s boring.

Poorly written, poorly edited; regret every minute I wasted reading it. I love a good plot twist but this couldn’t come up with one so misled the reader on several fronts to create a ridiculous ending. Embarrassed for the author.
