The theme of this book is: Your Team Needs Dialogue! The contents are drawn from the Academy of Professional Dialogue ́s online conference on this theme held in 2024. The volume is a thorough and pragmatic enquiry into the nature of dialogic teamwork undertaken by practitioners who use Professional Dialogue daily in their lives and work.

What is dialogic teamwork? What is dialogic decision-making and why does it work? How does dialogic awareness affect our participation and contribution to our collective endeavours? What is the power of dialogic teamwork? How does it lead to remarkable results, and why is it so fulfilling? These are all questions raised during the conference and considered with experienced practitioners through plenary sessions, smaller breakouts, and eight substantial Case Studies.

Dialogic Teamwork is quite distinct form other forms of teamwork. It assumes an already existing and systemic interconnectedness between people that can be explored through authentic and transparent inquiry together - and that participating in that inquiry clarifies the team ́s thinking, enriches the sense of belonging and leads to more coherent action.

This volume is part of a sequence of annual publications, released from 2019 to 2025, under the title The World Needs Dialogue! The septology provides a remarkable account of the growth and development of Professional Dialogue and its applicability in all areas of human endeavour.

The Academy of Professional Dialogue is an educational non-profit charity formed to make the benefits of Professional Dialogue available to all sectors of society. The work originates with David Bohm ́s insight that pervasive fragmentation in human consciousness is damaging society and impacting the state of the world. Dialogue is a proven way of addressing organizational and social fragmentation. Different aspects of this professional practice are considered each year at the Academy ́s annual conference.
