Description

When Walter Nash is recruited by the FBI to help bring down a global crime network his life is turned completely upside down in this thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci.

Nash is an intelligent man, tough but fair-minded. He has a wife and a daughter and a very high-level position at Sybaritic Investments, where his innate skills and dogged tenacity have carried him to the top of the pyramid in his business career. Despite never going on grand adventures, and always working too many hours, he has a happy and upscale life with his family.

However, following his estranged Vietnam-veteran father’s funeral, Nash is unexpectedly approached by the FBI in the middle of the night. They have an important request: become their inside man to expose an enterprise that is laundering large sums of money through Sybaritic. At the top of this illegal operation is Victoria Steers, an international criminal mastermind that the FBI has been trying to bring down for years.

Nash has little choice but to accept the FBI’s demands and try to bring Steers and her partners to justice. But when Steers discovers that Nash is working with the FBI, she turns the tables on him in a way he never could have contemplated. And that forces Nash to take the ultimate step both to survive and to take his revenge: He must become the exact opposite of who he has always been.
And even that may not be enough.

I’ve enjoyed the Author’s other books. Smart, great story lines, wonderful characters and more. This book is mediocre and the story feels “pushed”.
  • One for the price of two!?

Not one of my favorite from Mr. B……ending the book in the middle of the story really sucks. But the bonus is, now I have to wait until April to read the remaining chapters. I guess David needs the money.

Those who gave this book a bad review, either had a bad hair day or woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Again Baldacci nails it. I’ve read every book he’s written and never been disappointed. The imagination and research Baldacci puts into his characters is top notch. Water Nash is just another character that he’s spot on with and the characters around him. The way he writes about good vs. evil is why I continue to buy his books. The continued story lines of his characters and in other books is his gift. I for one hope that he continues on with several more books on Walter Nash/Dillon Hope. His characters have always been the epitome of goodness, strength, determination, humility, honor and patriotism. The only regret I have is I have to wait for the next book. However, this is what keeps me coming back for more. Thank you for letting me use my imagination and living through a reading that not only makes me want to be a better person in life, but allows me to have those same characteristics of the hero’s in your books…!

Great book until the “ending”… Seems like the author (whom I like) got tired and just put his pen down and submitted his unfinished work. Very disappointed
  • Half done

Great story - as far as it went. Kind of a cheap shot selling only half of a book.
  • There not there

A long story with no ending, unless you buy the sequel. In other words a literary con.
  • Hurry up with the sequel

This is a cliffhanger. A excellent read, but the end simply leaves us waiting for the final chapter
