Description

A love story that sets the world on fire... Literally.

Elizabeth spent her life preparing for the worst. As one of the fiercest MMA fighters in the USA, nothing scared her.

Until the dragons came.

To save her younger siblings, Liz makes a deal with the dragon prince sent to destroy them all. She also makes secret plans to take him down. But the more she learns and the deeper she gets, the more confusing things become.

The dragon prince isn't who she thought he was, and Liz begins to wonder what happens when an avenging angel falls for the devil himself.

If you're a fan of dragon shifter romances like The Fourth Wing, then this totally unique new series is going to knock your scaly socks off.

Don't want to take my word for it? No problem! The famously critical Kirkus reviews said, "Over the course of this fantasy romance novel, Baker excels at stoking the passion that Liz and Axel share as well as describing the competition that arises between Axel and Liz's would-be suitor, Gideon. Baker effectively marshals a large cast, including Liz's siblings. Ensnared boasts complex and engaging worldbuilding and introduces a tough-minded and appealing protagonist. A well-developed enemy-to-lovers fantasy."

Publisher's Weekly said, "the action scenes are vivid and exciting," and "by anchoring the story in a degree of realism rather than the purely fantastical, Baker sets the book apart from its contemporaries."

This book is so good! I couldn’t put it down! The characters really make you feel as if you’re part of the book. How they describe the different types of dragons and then they’re not dragons, they are blessed. The author ensures that you won’t want to stop reading. Can’t wait to start reading the second book of this series!

It’s kind of hard to describe in the first half the writing was almost high schooling. the characters are complicated. The second half it picked up. It started making more sense but it’s a deeply very different storyline. Not like anything I’ve ever read when it comes to dragons, invasions and so forth. I believe I can see where the stories going and what the heart is and all that. I’ll have to go while before. I’m ready to read another one maybe even quite a while.

It was so different and fresh. Loved the scenes of the dragon trying to figure out how to be a man. And when he asked her to teach him to kiss? I died.

I’ve been trying to figure out, even through the entire book, how I am going to accurately review this book. If you follow my reviews, I haven’t done that much with fantasy lately, and definitely not paranormal. I did years ago, but it was mainly just vamp and wolf shifter. Prior to this series I had read books from two series that had dragon shifters. And each series is completely different. This book ensnared me. We open with a normal girl living in a normal world, and then the dragons come. And humans respond the exact same way they would in our world, because dragons don’t exist. Throughout the book we are embroiled in a sort of love triangle with her human friend, who was about to become more, before the dragons, and the dragon shifter who has inadvertently created a bond with her. As our dragons come from a different culture and planet, they have their own ideas about things that don’t entirely match up with human perceptions. But his heart! This is a sweet paranormal romantasy read. But the swoon is so high! It’s slow burn, but this is a saga series, so that’s expected. I was utterly enchanted by this book and my only regret is that I know the entire series has not been released. This book, and the rest of the books, are living in my brain rent free and I know they will continue to. I had been doing so well with going to bed on time… until this book. I have nothing but praise for this book. I’m learning that I should never doubt or worry about anything that Baker writes. No matter how different one thing is from the other, I’m going to love it. I am now heading off to binge the next two books because I cannot get enough of these characters and their saga.

If you like dragon fantasy books, definitely give this one a try. It’s not the same as the other books out there and I really like the main character!

Read it in 3 hours. Didn’t stop to even drink or eat. Just like Rebecca Yarros books but shorter. Just read it!

This was a good book, and a bit stressful at the same time. The main character is caught in so many difficult situations that it makes my head spin, and I just want to find out what’s next! There is some PG 13 content, but it can still basically be called clean. No language or crude behavior, but there is some behavior and some thoughts that border on being inappropriate, and there is a lot of violence, of course… since there are destructive dragons in the story! I love the strong main character, especially since she has some faults that keep her from being too perfect, and she becomes even stronger throughout the story, and the main dragon is very intriguing!
  • Good clean fantasy!

Thoroughly enjoyable tale of dragons returning to Earth. They have a lot to learn about independent women.
