Description

AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 USA TODAY BESTSELLER

In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun and spicy small town rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man…

King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he’s a guaranteed good time—in bed and out—and that’s exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She’s immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is in this charming friends to lovers romance.

Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox’s spare bedroom. She knows he’s a notorious ladies’ man, but they’re definitely just friends. In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport’s resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker’s eye… yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur in a classic slow burn, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost.

Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she’s walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and… and… man overboard! He’s fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he’s all in, she'll choose him instead?

I didn’t think I was gonna like this as much as Piper and Brendan’s story. But this was a great read with such an amazing story and learning lesson. that makes me think twice about appearances aren’t definite and how our perceptions can actually affect and hurt people. Deep.

I love how it played off the first story. It has so many exciting moments and real raw passion! I would have given it 5 starts but I feel like it wasn’t as spicy as the first book. Still amazing though!
  • A feel good ending to the Bellinger Sister story

Read this immediately after fully reading the first book in one sitting. My fav is enemies to lovers so I liked the first one better (even though they were never truly enemies) but this was still so fantastic ✨

Pretty sure this is my first time reading this author. By the title, I thought it was a romcom, but it truly was a love story. My age keeps me from liking sexy stories, with words many use with sex. But I got caught up in the story of Hannah and Fox and couldn’t put it down.

Hook, Line, And Sinker was a good book, it’s a friendship to lovers trope going on in this book, and it’s also a slow burn. I just feel like Tessa Bailey could’ve let us see them a little bit more in this book. Hannah and Fox were all on each other. Their relationship was so intimate, romantic, a relationship that everyone craves for. They were both trying hard to accept the fact that they belong together in the end. I loved the characters in this book.❤️ -Kierra Brice🩷
