A Few Feathers From The West “She’s only a woman.” Pam was wading through the shallows of Perth’s Swan River photographing birds when a couple of passing lycra-clad cyclists opined on the foolishness of hand holding such a long lens without a tripod. “She’s only a woman” was their gratuitous observation. Despite the pedallers’ doubts on the capability of female photographers, many of the images in this book were hand held with that long lens. Conversely, many also were taken with a gimbal mount on a tripod. This book is a celebration of the wondrous birdlife we have in Western Australia. Images range from Perth’s Swan River, Rottnest Island, the Houtman Abrolhos, Shark Bay, Cape Range, the Ningaloo Coast, the Kimberley and the Kakadu wetlands. If you find any errors in species identification, have some mercy on a mere shutter jockey without ornithological pretensions. All errors are entirely my own. Feedback is most welcome as the book will be updated from time to time. Pam's books have been downloaded in 41 countries.
