INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The world’s most celebrated thriller writer and author of The Da Vinci Code returns with his most stunning novel yet—a propulsive, twisty, thought-provoking masterpiece that will entertain readers as only Dan Brown can do.

Robert Langdon, esteemed professor of symbology, travels to Prague to attend a groundbreaking lecture by Katherine Solomon—a prominent noetic scientist with whom he has recently begun a relationship. Katherine is on the verge of publishing an explosive book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief. But a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos, and Katherine suddenly disappears along with her manuscript. Langdon finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague’s most ancient mythology. As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine . . . and for answers. In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.

I felt the book read like a Prague travel guide. Way too much tourist detail. Boring and painfully long. I could not wait to finish the book and put it out of it’s (our) misery.

While the story is compelling the detailed and repetitive explanations of all sorts of topics was hard to drive through. I love the action of Dan Brown novels but by the last 1/3 of the book was happy to scan in search of actual progression of the story.

Fun read. Never great literature, but engrossing intricate tales that connect so well. If you love Dan Brown. You will love this book

Found the story line a bit much to swallow. Brown has done better.

I very much enjoyed the story and how it pushed/dragged me through it. At times I felt that there was too much extraneous information dropped into a very exciting story. But as I continued reading I began to realize how important it was to understanding what the author was telling the reader. There are things going on in the world that we have no idea of. The main character, Robert Landon, kept me intrigued with his resolving of the puzzles along the way. It is always fun to have ‘Tom Hanks’ along in my minds eye while reading!

The premise, the science, the history all equaled another deep, thrilling, Dan Brown adventure that blew my mind. No one writes fact and fiction like him. It’s storytelling that will stay with you long after you finish the book. As thought provoking as it is satisfying.
  • Never wanted it to end

The story is continually paused while you have to read way too many pages of technical details. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book.
  • Very enjoyable.
